Dr. Ajay Dua Chairman (Non - executive) |
|
|
|
Dr. Dua joined the Indian Administrative Services in 1971.
Thereafter he held a variety of senior assignments in the
Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India, including
Managing Director of Industrial Promotion Corporations. He was
also the CEO of Housing and Area Development Authority, Joint
Secretary in the Union Ministry of Power, Director General,
Employees' State Insurance Corporation.
Since July 2005, he is the Secretary in the Department of
Industrial Policy and Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce and
Industries, Government of India. He has also worked as an
industrial consultant in the Solomon Islands on behalf of the
Commonwealth Secretariat, UK.
Dr. Dua has a strong academic background. He is a graduate in
Economics from St. Stephens' College, Delhi. He then pursued his
M.Sc (Eco) course at the London School of Economics and
Politics. He completed his Ph.D from the University of Bombay.
He holds diplomas in Business Administration, Marketing
Management and the Russian language.
Due to his significant work experience in the electricity
industry and in promoting industrial activities, Dr. Dua is
currently responsible for formulation of industrial policy,
intellectual property issues and catalyzing both domestic and
foreign investments in the Country.
Dr. Ajay Dua, 62 years has served in the Government of India and
Government of Maharashtra in several senior capacities. He
brings in significant experience of the electricity industry
having worked as a Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of
Power and as Chairman cum Managing Director of National Hydro
Electric Power Corporation and the Rural Electrification
Corporation of India. As Secretary in the Ministry of Industry
and Commerce, he had spearheaded the formulation of policy for
industrial development, intellectual property and promotion of
domestic and foreign investments. |

Mr. Rathin Basu - Managing Director |
|
|
|
Mr. Rathindra Nath Basu is a qualified Engineer. Mr. Basu joined
NTPC in 1978 and was incharge of India's first computer based
Data Scquisition System for Thermal Power Plants. He Joined
Cegelec India in 1985 and headed the Energy Division. In 1998,
after Cegelec's merger with the then GEC ALSTHOM, he was
nominated as the Managing Director of two separate business
divisions of ALSTOM T&D India. In 2003, he was transferred to
ALSTOM T&D ( which later became AREVA T&D) Head Office as Vice
President of the product line Power Distribution (a 350 M Euro
world-wide business). Mr.Basu has also attended 'Advanced
Management Programme' at Insead, France and a programme on
'Global Electricity Markets' at London Business School. Mr. Basu
has been appointed as Managing Director of the Company with
effect from 1st February, 2007.
Mr. Basu is a permanent invitee to the Audit Committee and
member of the Share Transfer and Shareholder / investors
grievance Committee.

Mr. Michel Augonnet - Director (non-executive) |
|
|
|
Mr. Michel Augonnet is a Graduate in Electrical Engineering from
Ecole Superieure d'Electricite (France). His career started in
1974 at CEGELEC Energy Division. In a career span of 32 years,
he has held several key positions in CEGELEC, ALSTOM and ABB
ALSTOM. At present, he is the Executive Vice President-Systems
Business, AREVA T&D SA

Mr. Pierre Laporte - Director (non-executive ) |
|
|
|
Mr. Pierre Laporte has a Master Degree in Business Law. His
career started in 1987 as an Attorney specializing in Business
Law. He has held several key positions in GE Group in the Europe
Middle East Africa and in Asia Pacific. He joined AREVA in the
year 2005 and at present, he is the Senior Vice President ,
Corporate Legal and General Counsel of AREVA Corporate, France. |

Mr.Arthur de Montalembert - Director (non-executive ) |
|
|

|
|
|
Mr Arthur De Montalembert graduated in Economics and Finance
from the Paris Institute for Political Studies. He also holds
degerees in Philosophy from the Paris -Sorbornne University and
in Regional & Urban Planning from the French School of Civil
Engg. His Career in the energy field started in 1979 as an
Officer of International energy affairs at the French Ministry
of Indudsry.He joined COGEMA, the French Nuclear fuel cycle
Company in 1983 and after holding various positions for business
development, including acting as COGEMA'S chief representative
in Japan, from the beginning of 1995, he was in charge of
American affairs at COGEMA's Corporate Strategy & International
Development Division. In May 2000 was appointed Director for
International Development. He joined AREVA in September 2001 and
is the Chairman & Managing Director of AREVA India Pvt Ltd. |

Mr. C. M. A. Nayar - Director (non-executive) |
|
|
|
Mr. Nayar is a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Madras
and has also undergone Advanced Management Training at the
renowned institute INSEAD, Paris. He started his career as a
Project Engineer with ALIND, Kerala in 1965 and rose to become a
Chief Executive of its Switchgear Division. In 1988, he left
ALIND and joined ALSTOM's Power Transmission Group as Marketing
Manager. In ALSTOM, he had held several key positions.
Mr. Nayar is also a Member of the Audit Committee. |

Mr Subir Raha - Director (non-executive) |
|
|
|
Mr. Subir Raha had served as Chairman & Managing Director of Oil
and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), India's #1 Company in
Forbes 2000 Global ranking, for five years from 25th May 2001.
He was concurrently the Chairman of the wholly-owned subsidiary,
ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL). He was also the Chairman of Mangalore
Refinery & Petrochem Ltd. (MRPL, March '04-May '06), and other
Group Companies. During Mr. Raha's tenure, ONGC's share price
increased x11 times, achieving the recognition of the most
valuable Company on the Indian stock market. MRPL, a terminally
sick company was turned around to be listed BSE30. Mr. Raha had
served as Director (HR) (June '98-May '01), and concurrently,
Director in-charge of Business Development, Information
Technology and Corporate Communications of Indian Oil
Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), India's #1 ranked Fortune Global
Company where he had began his career as a Management Trainee in
1970. Mr.Raha had served on secondment in the Ministry of
Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, as the Head of the Oil
Coordination Committee (OCC) (August '96-June '98). Mr. Raha was
recognized as the global Petroleum Executive of the year 2005 by
the Petroleum Economist, London.
Mr Raha is the member of the Audit Committee.

Mr. Karim Vissandjee – Director (non-executive) |
|
|
|
Mr. Karim Vissandjee graduated from H.E.C.Montreal (Canada).
Before joining AREVA, he worked as Chief Financial Officer of
Group Vedior France, after having held various top positions in
finance within LVMH, Valeo and Olivetti. Presently, he is the
Chief Financial Officer of AREVA T&D SA.
Mr. Vissandjee is also a Member of the Audit Committee and
member of the Share Transfer and Shareholder / investors
grievance Committee
